1 - Chicamocha National Park

It’s located in the area of Aratoca, 40 kilometers from San Gil.
In the centre of the majestic scenery of the Chicamocha canyon at a spot known as “the windows” springs the construction of this charming and fun park, which has now become one of the main tourist attractions of the department.

Inside the park you can visit: small shops, the Santanderean village, plaza of the flags or shows, Guane museum, Santander monument (the tobacco leaf), the view point, the goat and ostrich parks and you can also enjoy the following activities:

2 - El Gallineral Botanical Gardens

Located in the centre of San Gil on the banks of the river Fonce covering an area of 4 hectares, its giant trees with moss create a paradise full of exotic and exuberant scenery.



3 - San Gil

San Gil lies 96 kilometers from Bucaramanga and 327 kilometers from Bogotá. It’s the capital of the province of Guanenta and covers an area of 145 square kilometres. It is 1114 meters above sea level with an average temperature of 24 degrees centigrade.
Due to its wealth of natural attractions it has become the tourism capital of te department.
Main attractions: Gallineral park botanical gardens, river Fonce, adventure activities, among others.



4 - Barichara

Located 110 kilometers from Bucaramanga and 20 from San Gil with an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level and with an average temperature of 21 degrees. Declared a national monument on 3 August 1978.
Lovingly known as the land of the greater yellowlegs (a type of bird) and the most beautiful town of Colombia, the beauty of its cobbled streets, its architecture and other attractions have turned this town into one of the main tourist attractions of the region.

It's main attractions are:
